Ponemon Institute Fellowship Program

Ponemon Institute is an organization dedicated to independent research that advances responsible information, privacy and security management practices in business and government. Founded by Dr. Larry Ponemon in 2002, the Institute, in addition to research, engages in projects to educate leaders in the private and public sectors about responsible information management and to verify the privacy and data protection practices of organizations.

Ponemon Institute has published more than 50 research reports and benchmark studies. The Institute has also assembled a Council of more than 40 leading organizations (called the Responsible Information Management or RIM Council) to develop an ethics-based framework for privacy, data protection and information management.

In 2005, Ponemon Institute introduced a Fellowship Program for the purpose of bringing together luminaries in the privacy and data security professions for the purpose of providing strategic direction and technical guidance to the Institute and its RIM Council Advisory Board. They will also be called upon to share their ideas and opinions about the future of the privacy and data protection profession with the staff of Ponemon Institute and the RIM Council Advisory Board.

Each Fellow will be a representative of a particular technical and/or business area. These include: privacy, data security, marketing and national security. For more information about the Ponemon Institute Fellowship Program, please contact the Institute at 231-264-5178.
